William Hurt In Talks For Stephenie Meyer’s Uncle Jeb in ‘The Host’

Holy Uncle Jeb!! He is FANTASTIC! I’ve got to admit, he isn’t how I imagined, but he is better. That’s a first for me, having lived through all these book-to-movie adaptations :D

Oscar-winning actor William Hurt is in talks to join Andrew Niccol’s film adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s sci-fi novel The Host, according to a source close to the production. Hurt would play the pivotal role of Jeb, eccentric uncle to Saoirse Ronan’s Melanie Stryder, whose brain is hijacked by the soul of an alien being known as Wanderer. Jeb is one of the grizzled leaders of the human survivalists fighting the alien invasion.”

What do you think? Is he the Jeb you imagined??

Stephenie Meyer Talks ‘The Host’ Trilogy Timeline

This is the same interview I previously posted, but I wanted to make sure the transcript was available for both topics.

PS PLEAAAASSSEE do NOT take 10 years to write the sequels!!!! *poundsdesk*

“Meyer says, “I planned The Host as a trilogy. I have pieces of the other ones written, but I’ve been making a lot of movies this year so it hasn’t been a great year for writing.” Hopefully we’ll be getting the next two novels in ‘The Host’ trilogy soon.”

Stephenie Meyer Talks Saoirse Ronan’s Age and Leading in ‘The Host’

This interview was taken, again, at the ‘Breaking Dawn Part 1′ Premiere in London. Stephenie Meyer is flipping amazing…how does she keep it all together? Love her. I will say it was also nice to know that she doubted Saoirse’s age as well. And since she has seen all of the auditioning/testing for the film, we have to trust her on this one.

” [Meyer] says that she was unsure at first, saying “Melanie is older than that, I don’t know.” However, now she’s totally sold. “She’s so amazing. I can’t imagine anyone else bringing it to life,” says Meyer. Like many of us, she was worried about the age difference from the novel at first, but now trusts Saoirse Ronan with the demanding role. “
